Cuticle care at home step by step
Share
Well-kept cuticles make any manicure look cleaner and more professional. And no, you don’t need to cut them. We’ll show you how to care for them at home safely.
Why it’s best not to cut them
The cuticle protects the nail from bacteria and infections. Cutting it too much can cause wounds and hangnails. The ideal is to push it back, not remove it.
Step by step
1. Soften
Soak your hands in warm water for a few minutes, or apply cuticle oil to soften them.
2. Push back gently
With an orange stick or a pusher, gently push the cuticle back. Without forcing.
3. Remove only hangnails
If there are loose bits of skin, trim them carefully. Never pull on them.
4. Moisturise
Apply cuticle oil or cream. Moisturising is the key to well-kept hands.
How often
Pushing back the cuticles once a week is enough. Moisturise daily if you can.
